Before contacting us in regards to a dog, please complete an adoption application Adoption Application.

Phelps is a sweet little clown of a dog whose goal in life is to snuggle and play. He is about two years old with a docked tail; he is neutered, he is up to date with shots and on heartworm prevention.  Phelps came to us with some strange symptoms and was initially thought to be deaf. He was treated for severe ear infections and may have lost some hearing but eagerly responds to his name and other verbal commands.

Phelps also has some neurological issues which the vet thinks was caused by surviving distemper as a pup. He has a funny gait at times and sometimes staggers a bit when he gets very excited-but he is not on any medication. He as has improved greatly being in foster care as he has gained strength and confidence.  In fact he now keeps up easily with his Aussie sisters and brothers. His uneven gait does mean that his toe nails have to be trimmed far more often than those of his sisters and brothers because they do not wear normally. However, Phelps does not mind this activity and uses it as an opportunity to cuddle.

He is a smaller male at about 35 pounds and just a small package of love.  Phelps is a fun loving boy,  he is housebroken and crate trained. He happily runs into his crate at dinner time.  He does know sit and we are working on stay and down. Phelps loves attention and enjoys playing; like toys and enjoys outings on his leash and likes car rides. He is eager to please and be part of the family.  Phelps is fine with cats and children but he does like to jump up when excited and children over seven would be a good fit for him.  He would make a great lap dog for someone looking for an Aussie to just love and spend time with. He adores his people and wants desperately to have his own family. He is low maintenance and easy going–his favorite activity is TV watching next to his foster dad.  Phelps would like to thank the Wierson family for the donation in memory of Jayne to help with his care.
