Firelight ARPH 10979
Firelight had a wonderful time at our Fall Aussie Palooza picnic, he met many new friends.
Firelight sends big puppy kisses to his sponsors: Laurie Ford (and her ARPH dog Finn), Lynne Harper (and her ARPH dogs Dudley and Hurley), Tommy and Barbie Johnson (and their ARPH dogs Coach and Lakota); Nathalie and Don Latimer (and their ARPH dogs Duke and Vandy), Janet, Tony, Blaze & Mishka Ward, Don McCook (and his ARPH dog Breckin), Gail Lough, Carolyn Holmes, Kay Ondeck, Lynda Webb, Bill Wadeikis, Joan Strasz, Morgan Allen, The NOTL Wanderers and their dogs: Penny, Tuppence, Bianca, Nessie and McDull, and Sheley Revis and her Aussie Enzo.
In August, 2008 Summerville police and animal control officers were called to an abandoned home and found five Australian Shepherds left to starve to death. One dog was dead on the scene. Another dog was too far gone to be saved and an attending veterinarian humanely euthanized him. Our huge appreciation goes out the Summerville authorities for stepping in to help these dogs to safety.
After a couple of months in foster care, Firelight has simply blossomed. He has completed his heartworm treatment, has been neutered and vaccinated.
Firelight is a smaller, spirited Aussie with a wonderful, curious and playful personality. He currently resides with another male Aussie, several cats and an older French Bulldog. While Firelight is generally okay with the smaller dog, his foster home feels he would do best in a home with a dog his size or larger.
Firelight loves to play with his humans and other dogs, and he has come so far since being rescued from his neglectful situation. He is now housetrained, crate trained and walking well on leash.
We wish to thank all of the sponsors who donated to help Firelight get back on the road to health. He is fostered in Woodstock, GA.
The final ending to Firelight’s sad beginning is a forever home. Please contact Kim Johnson at savaussies@comcast.net for more information on adopting Firelight.
