Chelby #350

chelby-3chelby-2chelbyWhat a looker! Chelby is a very sweet 1 yr old Aussie mix with a beautiful red merle coat that velvety to the touch. She has a very lovely fluffy tail! She is about 50lbs.

Chelby loves to run and play with male dogs. We aren’t sure about females yet as her owner turned her into the shelter stating she didn’t get along with the other female dog in the house……was it Chelby or the other dog, we don’t know. I can tell you she LOVES her 3 foster brothers and has a blast with them. She does need another dog to play with! Chelby can also jump fences so if you plan on leaving her outside unattended, however she’s been very good about staying in the yard!

We are told Chelby is great with kids and is house trained, and crate trained. She seems very social with people but does need some basic manners as all young dogs do. She has PERFECT house manners and is a great inside dog! She’s going to make someone very nice pet but it will have to be a family that can exercise her to get all that energy out!

Chelby is fostered in Port Orange, FL.  Please contact Kim at flaussierescue@cfl.rr.com

Barney #399

I am Bailey and I know I am a “looker”. I am a neutered male with a white collar, pearly white teeth and golden green eyes. I was an owner turn in from Ocala, Fla. I know some commands and my foster mom is working with me on crate and house training.  I am 57.8 # and 2 year old. My coat is rather dull, but will darken in time. I ride well in the car and just a really nice boy.   I am up to date on all shot.

I am fostered in St. Petersburg, FL  Please contact Jan if interested jsebald@tampabay.rr.com

McGrady 511

img00092-20100306-12341mcgrady_310

Before inquiring about a dog, please complete an Adoption Application.

McGrady is a 3yo heartworm negative boy with a full tail and cool eyes (one blue, one brown)!  This boy truly has the Luck of the Irish!  He spent 35 days in a VERY rural shelter in the Northern mountains of NC.  The shelter is only supposed to give strays 7 days before being euthanized but gave him an extra 28 days because he was, in their own words, “quiet, well-socialized…just an easy keeper”.

Right now, he is very new to rescue and is trying to find his way after all the change he’s been thru lately.   After some initial fright and protest, he now walks on a leash like a dream and willingly goes up stairs and over hardwood floors.  He does not like to be kenneled and can escape an airline kennel; however McGrady has not caused any damage when left out in his foster home.  He has done very well with every neighbor (big or small) he has met on walks thru the neighborhood!

He will be fostered in the Charlotte (NC) Metro area.  Please stay tuned for more updates and pictures as we learn more about McGrady.

Zeke 421

zeke-8zeke-4zeke-3

Before inquiring about a dog, please complete an Adoption Application.

This is Zeke, a very nice smaller Aussie who spent a really long time in the shelter.  Many people inquired about him, but nobody adopted him.

And boy did those folks miss out, because this is one precious 25lb bundle of sweetness.  Zeke is such a nicely balanced boy, low key and affectionate and already knows some obedience commands.  He does wonderfully with cats, other dogs but really loves people.

This is a wonderful dog that could fit nicely in any home, and he’s travel sized for your convenience.  Don’t make the same mistake all the other people did by passing this wonderful dog up.

Zeke is fostered in Woodstock, GA.  Interested parties may contact Rachael Eley at Catmndu@gmail.com

Kayla 417

100_5233100_5129100_5231

Before inquiring about a dog, please complete an Adoption Application.

Meet Kayla, an adorable 9 month old Aussie with a natural bobbed tail.

Kayla was found by someone in TN and after a couple of days in their care, her owners never came forward, and she found herself in the shelter.

Boing, Boing, Pop Goes The Weasel could describe this bouncy little energetic pup.  She is so happy and affectionate with a fun personality and she enjoys everone and every dog she meets.  Kayla is great with kids, is housetrained and crate trained, and walks reasonably well on leash - but often gets distracted by things around her.  “Places to go, people to see” is her motto.  Kayla is the result of a double merle breeding and has deficient hearing - but it’s hard to tell that sometimes because she is so people focused and likes to stick close.  A fenced yard is a requirement to adopt her - due to her inability to hear clearly someone calling her or passing traffic.

Kayla is fostered in Lawrenceville, Ga.  Interested parties may contact Rachael Eley at Catmndu@gmail.com.

Dillon 416

100_5249100_5225100_5223

Before inquiring about a dog, please complete an Adoption Application.

Dillon is a sweet and smaller black tri Aussie with a docked tail.  He was dropped off in a nightbox at a shelter in TN.

Dillon is a very affectionate and quiet dog that is good with cats, rides nicely in the car and is learning to walk on leash.  Dillon is a bit uncertain about new dogs and new people, but he warms up quickly and is very food motivated.

He’s quiet as a mouse in his crate and follows his foster family around from room to room.

Dillon is very new to our program - please stay tuned for updated photos and information.  He is fostered in Kennesaw, Ga.

Bard #349

bardbard-3This is one handsome guy!  Bard is two years old and about 43lbs.  He seems to be house and crate trained although he’s been an outside dog (by the way, he LOVES being an inside dog)!  His has gotten along with all my dogs and plays non-stop with my foster aussie and border collie (both males).   Bard is somewhat shy but I think most of that is his not being sure what’s expected of him.  I believe he’s going to make someone a great pet!

Bard is fostered in Indialantic, FL. You must be willing to travel to FL to meet Bard.  If interested in Bard please contact Kim at flaussierescue@cfl.rr.com

Cici

100_4982100_4922100_4964Before inquiring about a dog, please complete an Adoption Application.
Cici is a two year old black tri mini Aussie with a docked tail.  She came into rescue with Cara from a breeder in GA.  Cici was purchased from the breeder as a puppy, but was returned when she became too overprotective of the baby in her home and wouldn’t allow the father near the child when the baby was crying.  A little bit of structure and leadership will help Cici to understand that she doesn’t need to protect a child.

Cici’s breeder is going out of business and asked rescue to take her.  This little 25 lb sweetheart is reeling a bit at losing her family.  But she’s got an adorable wiggle and a very loving nature.  She likes to grin submissively when we talk to sweet to her - and her grin is a little lopsided giving her a very convincing Elvis sneer.

Cici walks nicely on leash, goes right in her crate and rides well in the car.  She is hesitant with new people, but warms up nicely to women.  She is very hesitant around the men in her foster home.  Any male in her new home would need to be patient with her and be able to work on gaining her trust.    Cici is good with cats and other dogs and is fostered in Kennesaw, Ga.  Interested parties may contact Rachael Eley at Catmndu@gmail.com

Caribou #348 (Adoption Pending)

caribou2caribouBefore inquiring about a dog, please complete an Adoption Application. Say hello to Caribou!  He’s a very handsome 9 yr old blue merle male who weighs about 38lbs.  His owner was moving and couldn’t take him.  He’s a sweet boy who is more interested in people than other animals.  He walks well on a leash and sleeps on a doggie bed next to his foster parents at night.

Older dogs are great pets and he still has many years left to love you!

Caribou is fostered in Tampa, FLORIDA.  If interested in Caribou please contact Kim at flaussierescue@cfl.rr.com

Caden #345

caden-bodycadenBefore inquiring about a dog, please complete an Adoption Application. Meet Caden an adorable 18 month old red merle male who weighs approx 35lbs.  He has a very lovely long tail that he displays proudly!

Caden is all puppy, he needs to learn some basic manner something that his foster home is working on.  He is a sweet and lovable guy but boy does he have energy!  Caden definitely needs an a home that can give him the exercise he needs.  He’ll also need a fenced yard.

So far Caden is good with all the dogs he’s met and all the people he’s met!  He really like young children and showers them with kisses.  He seems ok with cats too.  Caden is a work in progress but we know all that work will be well worth it for this youngster!

Caden unfortunately is heartworm positive.  He will be treated but won’t be available to go to his new home until the end of March.    This handsome boy is fostered in Oviedo, FLORIDA.  If interested please contact Kim at flaussierescue@cfl.rr.com

Riley 410

riley100_5031100_5027Before inquiring about a dog, please complete an Adoption Application.

Riley is a small and cute 3 year old Aussie with an adorable naturally bobbed tail.  Riley was brought in as a stray to Fulton County Animal Control.

This little fellow has the cutest personality.  He’s very quiet and well behaved, but really kicks up his heels outside.  Riley really enjoys other dogs, but isn’t over the top about playing with them.

Riley is housetrained, up to date on vaccinations, and crate trained.  Riley ignores cats, walks great on leash, and is just generally easy to have around.

Riley is an amazing dog, but he’s had a tough life in the past and needs slow introductions to new people and sometimes can get uncomfortable in situations where he feels threatened or unsure.  He needs a new owner that will introduce him gently and safely to new people and places.  A new owner would need to be a strong advocate for Riley when taking him to new places and introducing him to visitors.  Someone who can read his body language and manage his interactions if he gets uncomfortable and ask visitors or those interacting with him to give him his space.  He is a very submissive dog and lights up with praise and food rewards.

We recommend a home with no children.

This little guy just wants a safe home that enjoys a nice little dog.  He is fostered in Kennesaw, GA.

Clover

100_4597100_4654100_4902

Update 2/21: Clover has come so far since being rescued.  She now puts her broken leg down on the floor more often than not and is using it regularly.  Our hope is to begin her heartworm treatment in a couple of weeks.  Even though Clover is small, she’s got a huge spirit and a great attitude.  Clover has just blossomed in foster care.  After a couple of tense moments with the kitties in her foster home, she is now agreeable to accepting that this was their home first and that they can continue to stay.  She is just a lovely creature who is a hoot to have around and keeps her foster family in stitches with her playful and dramatic antics.

Clover is a 3 year old black tri Aussie with a docked tail.  She came into rescue after being hit by a car on 1/31.  She has a broken leg and an abdominal wound that has been repaired.  Clover also tested positive for heartworms and will require treatment, once her leg is more stable.

Clover has the smarts and cleverness that Aussie enthusiasts adore.  She is a very intelligent girl, who likes to run things in the home and keep the other dogs and cats in line, despite her limited mobility.  However, people matter most to her, and she is very easily corrected when she gets bossy.  After a long discussion with her foster Mom about who really runs the house (the foster Mom, not Clover), she is happy to give up that job. We have no doubt this girl would enjoy playing with toys and being active once she is well healed.

New Spirit appreciates any donation however small to assist Clover’s journey back to health.

To sponsor Clover, visit New Spirit Aussie Rescue Donation site.

Clover is fostered in Kennesaw, GA.

Clover wishes to thank Dr. Sheley Revis, Laurie Ford, Melissa Barnett, Emily Chapman, Art Murray, Kaye Phillips, Tracy Garrett and Jennifer Barozzini, Janet Ward, Donna Debrodt, John Sims, Hoof and Paws Pet Care, LLC, Michael DaSilva, Kevin Mahoney, Faith Fenderson, Marilyn Trevino, Candy Marlotte and Tonya Bruner for their generous sponsorship of her care.

Hedy 303

100_4027100_4038

Before inquiring about a dog, please complete an Adoption Application.

This sweet girl was spotted running loose several times at a church in rural GA. Though it was obvious she recently had puppies, they could not be located despite an exhaustive search of the area where she was found.

Hedy is a kind and friendly girl who already knows how to give paw and shake - so she must have belonged to someone in the past. Hedy has the look and style of a working Aussie and she corners like a Ferrari and can stop on a dime. So far she seems to ignore cats, and likes to play rough with her male foster brothers.

Hedy is a very confident dog and should be placed with another confident dog that likes to rough and tumble as she does.  She will take advantage of a dog more submissive than she is.

She is fostered in Woodstock, GA.   Interested parties may contact Rachael at Catmndu@gmail.com.

Boone #341

booneboone-21boone-31Before inquiring about a dog, please complete an Adoption Application.

Meet Boone!  He’s a little over a year old and all puppy!   Right now he’s a bit underweight but will soon be were he should be.  He is  house trained and crate trained although a little coaxing is needed (he LOVES treats).  He gets along well with other dogs and just wants a play buddy.   Boone doesn’t seem to be a real high energy boy at least not at this point in time.  He can chill in the house, a delight to have.   He might not be good for very small children as he does like to jump on you and he’s is a bigger boy (tall).

This handsome guy is fostered in Mulberry, FLORIDA (near Lakeland).  You must be willing to travel to meet him.

Moose #288

moose-3moose-2mooseBefore inquiring about a dog, please complete an Adoption Application.

Meet Moose Man!  He’s a very sweet BIG boy!  Moose is 5 yrs old and approx 80lbs!  He is a bit overweight and should weigh more like 70lbs.  He’s a fantastic dog, good with everyone and everything, men/women and children (even as young as a year old)!  This is big old happy goofy boy.  Moose is house and crate trained although he does not need to be crated.   This is a happy go lucky kinda guy who would make a nice pet for any home.

Moose is fostered in Bradenton, FL  If interested in Moose please contact Kim at flaussierescue@cfl.rr.com

You must be willing to travel to the dog to meet/adopt .
