The Catoosa County, GA Animal Shelter is located on 101 Almond Trail in Ringgold, GA (30736). Shelter hours are 8-4:15 M-F, closed for lunch from 12-12:30. Phone: 706-935-2454.

Adoption fee for a furry friend is $60, which includes a certificate for the pet’s spay/neuter surgery and office wellness check at a participating vet. Already altered pets are also $60.00.

Catoosa County does require that all dogs and cats are licensed with the county as well. 

This handsome fella is a 10 month old blue merle Aussie mix with a full tail.  Rufus found himself turned into the shelter when his owner was traveling for work and didn’t have time for him.  He is up to date on vaccinations and will soon be neutered.  Please stay tuned for new photos and updated information.

So far we know Rufus loves other dogs, is good with children and rides nicely in the car.  He needs some work on leash and does jump up a bit, but his foster home is working on that.

Ryann is a sweet and young 8 month old female Aussie with a docked tail.  She will soon be brought up to date on vaccinations and spayed.

So far, Ryann is a sweet, loving and submissive girl who is great with other dogs, even small temperamental ones.

Bella the former Darma is doing wonderfully now and living in Hilton Head, she has a great Golden dog pal to keep her busy. She has turned into a beautiful dog with a loving personality. Darma was a puppy mill seizure dog that had never set foot on grass till she came to the ARPH program, she was shy, and scared of everything but today she is a happy healthy and much loved family member to the Rocco family. Her sister also lives in the Savannah area!

     JR is a young male black tri Aussie.  He is a smaller Aussie and would be perfect for any family.  He loves kids and gets along well with other dogs.  JR loves to play with the ball and would be a great prospect for an agility dog.  With him being smaller in size he would be a great frisbee dog.  Whatever the job —  he would be a wonderful addition to any family.  He would do better in a home with no cats or chickens as he likes to chase them.

    If you are looking for a active family member then JR is your man.  He loves attention and could be your very own velcro dog!   Australian Shepherds are extremely intelligent and need exercise and mental stimulation so as not to become bored.  They do not make good apartment pets unless you are at home all day.  He will need a fenced in area or a large place to run.

I was looking at my pictures and I saw this one of Tuscany.  I thought I would send it to you so you could see he is a happy guy, loving life with his new family.  He is no doubt sitting here waiting to remind the neighborhood he is king of this hill with a friendly bark.

Tuscany is a joy to our family!  He has so much gentle love and appreciation for the small stuff in life.  He reminds us often to not sweat the small stuff.  Kim, we are constantly reminded that someone, somewhere in his life took the time to have him sit and shake.  He often when asked to sit offers his left paw as if he is ready to shake.  This is something this old dog has never forgotten.  Funny thing is I remember your story when listed for adoption is his offering his paw was what saved his life.

Thank you again for all your time and talent in helping God’s great gifts of rescued dogs.  He is truly a blessing in our life and we thank you for making this possible.

This is Moe he will be 1 yr old in 2 short weeks he is 14 ” , and is leash broke and house trained and has had basic obedience training. He is a beautiful little boy, and very sweet !  Moe is a miniature australian shepherd and he does have a luxating patella which will require surgery, he is up to date with shots, neutered and on heartworm prevention. He will require a home that will be able to provide the medical care for him that he needs. He walks great on a leash and has wonderful manners his former owner could not afford to have the surgery done which is why he needs a new home.

Time has slipped by and I hadn’t thought to keep you informed.  Mick is healthy, happy, and I believe he will always act like a puppy.  I’ve attached the last professional picture I had taken of him even though I have plenty of others I’ve taken myself.  His foster parents would probably like to see the picture, too, whenever you see them. There are many, many dogs in this subdivision and he’s made friends with some of them.  Deer roam freely and he’s curious every time he catches a whiff when they come into the front yard.
